Girard USD 248 is seeking a Technology Support Specialist.  This person reports directly to Cindy Murphy, Technology Director for Girard USD 248.

 

OVERVIEW:

Girard USD 248 is hiring a Technology Support Specialist for our fast-paced office and data-driven school district. This position is crucial in ensuring smooth operations and effective utilization of technology within our organization. It involves providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and support to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues. The primary goal is to optimize technology infrastructure and enhance user productivity.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Proficiency in MacOS, iPadOS, iOS, and tvOS is beneficial.
• A broad knowledge of computer hardware and software.
• An associate’s degree and working knowledge of Mosyle (or a mobile device management system) are beneficial but not required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess good technical skills to assist in our 1:1 iPad deployment, have strong oral and written communication skills, be able to work without constant direct supervision, be highly motivated, work independently with interruptions, be detail-oriented, and experience working with confidential and time-sensitive matters. Must be able to use and assist staff with Microsoft Office, iWorks Suite, and Google Drive and have the knowledge to utilize CSV files for importing, exporting, and reporting. 

 

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

Requires lifting, moving, carrying, pulling, or pushing equipment weighing approximately 100 pounds. Must be able to drive an automobile. There will be frequent stooping, bending, and reaching.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning, setup, and deployment of iPads and Mac computers
• Data Entry and Data Understanding
• Maintain inventory of all technology hardware/software in the district
• Maintain our current MDM (Mobile Device Management) system “Mosyle”
• Assist in maintaining our current SSO(Single Sign On) “Classlink”
• Recycle old and outdated technology
• Maintain projectors/document cameras/speaker systems/other classroom accessories.
• Study and stay updated on the latest technology trends
• Study and attend technology conferences to stay updated on new technology trends
• Help maintain district servers, network, and services
• Maintain printers and copiers
• Other duties as assigned by the technology director

Salary: Commensurate with experience
